Flood damage claims.
River flooding, surface water flooding and storm-driven flooding all produce different claims, and all of them are easy for the insurer to under-scope on drying and reinstatement. We manage the drying, the strip-out and the rebuild.
What this claim really involves.
A flood claim is won or lost in the first three weeks. Drying to a proper certificate takes time, and if the reinstatement starts before the moisture level is right, the damage recurs and the second claim is a lot harder to argue. We supervise drying to certificate, strip out only what genuinely needs to come out, and argue for resilient reinstatement where the same event is likely to recur.
Where flood claims go wrong.
The things we most often see mis-handled when a policyholder tries to run this type of claim on their own.
No cost. No obligation. We will tell you within one conversation whether this is a claim worth pursuing.
Start a free reviewCommon issues we see
- Reinstatement started before drying is complete, causing recurrence of mould and structural damage
- Strip-out over-scoped by unsupervised contractors, then argued back down by the insurer
- Contents settled on written-down value where new-for-old was in fact in force
- Loss of alternative accommodation cut short before the property is genuinely habitable
- Resilient reinstatement refused by the insurer without a proper case being put
What KBR Management does
- Attend site early to supervise strip-out and prevent over-scoping
- Instruct drying specialists with certification acceptable to the insurer
- Prepare contents schedule with matching-set arguments where relevant
- Argue for resilient reinstatement where the location warrants it
- Manage the rebuild to snag and hand-back
